Pakistan's cordial relations with Japan extends to sport: special assistant.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan enjoys cordial relations with Japan in various fields, including sport,Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Wednesday.

Dr Awan was invited as the chief guest to a Karate Education Workshop organised by the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Karate Association (JKA) Pakistan at the Rodham Hall in the Pakistan Sports Complex.

Addressing the event, she said that karate was a source of improving physical strength that also teaches discipline by teaching how to stand in the ring after losing thematch.

She said Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to see a developed Pakistan and was bringing reforms in sports in order to achieve this target. She also said the participation of girls in the training camp was a positive development and that these players were the future of the country.

One-day Karate Education Workshop organised to promote karate among young people

In response to a question from the media, Dr Awan said United States President Donald Trump's statement praising Pakistan during his visit to India was important for Pakistan on the diplomatic front.

Shindo Yusuke, the minister and deputy head of mission at the Japanese embassy, inaugurated the day-long workshop that aimed to promote karate among young people.

Mr Shindo said that the Karate Workshop 2020 would contribute to developing and strengthening ties through Japanese traditional martial arts and enhance cooperation in the sports sector. He said karate would be among the 33 sports...
