Overseas Pakistanis get voting right through Presidential ordinace.

ISLAMABAD -- President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has promulgated two separate ordinances for parents protection and right of votes for overseas Pakistanis.

President Dr. Arif Alvi has promulgated the "Parents Protection Ordinance 2021".

The ordinance aims to protect parents from forced eviction by their children. Under the ordinance, evicting parents will be a punishable offense.

Those who found guilty of the offence will face prison up-to one year or fine or both.

Earlier President Dr Arif Alvi had promulgated the "Elections [Second Amendment] Ordinance, 2021" enabling overseas Pakistanis to exercise their right to vote and paving the way to hold next general election through Electronic Voting Machines (EVM).
