Over 8,000 private educational institutions registered in KP.

MANSEHRA -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) director Tashfeen Haider has said that because of the effective steps taken by them over 8,000 private educational institutions have been registered so far in the province.

'The government wants to improve quality of education and that is why registration of private educational institutions in the province has risen to over 8,000 from 1,800 institutions last year,' Mr Haider told an annual private schools' convention here on Sunday.

The principals and owners of private educational institutions from Mansehra, Kohistan, Torghar, Abbottabad and Haripur districts attended the event.

The director said that the authority wanted to work in collaboration with the privates institutions for better results. 'We have completed the paperwork to declare an academic session of 240 days on the demand of private educational institutions,' he said.

PSRA director says govt scholarships for students of private schools soon

Mr Haider said that his authority was seriously considering including the private educational institutions in scholarship schemes started by the provincial government for public sector students. He said that the government wanted to end disparity between the public and private school students in this regard.

He said that PSRA would soon open its divisional offices across KP.
