Organisers issued permission for Aurat March.

ISLAMABAD -- The capital administration on Friday issued permission to Women Democratic Front for holding a march with conditions that their sloganeering/display of placards would not hurt any segment of society and general norms and values of society.

An order issued from the district magistrate office said the executive magistrate and police in a report submitted to the district magistrate had stated that the event on March 8 may trigger a law and order situation.

Some applicants also opposed the event and expressed the apprehension that the slogans and placards during the rally might show vulgarity and would be conflicting with religious and cultural values and hence the organisers should be restrained from holding the rally.

But the Islamabad High Court on Friday dismissed petitions filed against Aurat March, the order said, adding the chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights had also issued directions for the issuance of a no-objection certificate (NOC) to the organisers.

Moreover, Lahore High Court gave permission to hold such a march in Lahore, it added.
