Official 'jumps' to death from State Life building.

KARACHI -- A senior official of State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC), reportedly facing an inquiry over his 'personal conduct', jumped from the 11th floor of a multistorey building on I.I. Chundrigar Road, officials and sources said on WedAnesday.

They added that Zafar Iqbal, 55, apparently committed suicide, a claim disputed by the family.

City SSP Muqaddus Haider told Dawn that initial investigation and eyewitness accounts showed that Mr Iqbal, father of four, had committed suicide.

However, he added, further investigation was under way as the family disputed the police version.
