Notices issued to 80 private schools.

RAWALPINDI -- District Education Authority has issued notices to private schools which are open during winters despite the provincial government's directives for winter holidays to be announced in schools.

The authority conducted a survey in the district and discovered that 80 private schools are carrying out educational activities despite the government's directives.

A senior official of the authority told Dawn that it is difficult for children to go to school in harsh winters.

However, Private Schools Management Association Rawalpindi Division President Malik Abrar Ahmed Khan has urged the authority to withdraw the notices.
