New Town SHO transferred, ASI suspended after RPO's surprise visit.

RAWALPINDI -- The New Town station house officer (SHO) was transferred and the moharrar, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), suspended for poor performance during a surprise visit by the regional police officer (RPO) to the police station on Thursday.

The move by RPO Fayyaz Ahmed Dev came after a large number of residents from the New Town area appeared before him at a mosque in Satellite Town on Sunday and complained about the surge in street crime.

The residents also told him their complaints were not being entertained by the police.

After reviewing their performance, the RPO transferred SHO Nadeem Qasir and suspended ASI Mohammad Mumtaz, directing them to report to Police Lines.

He took action against the moharrar after observed the poor level of cleanliness at the station, as he was responsible for its maintenance.
