NEPRA hikes power tariff by 50 paisas per uni.

ISLAMABAD -- The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Saturday made another hike in the power tariff by 50 paisas per uni, sending yet another blow to the consumers who are already undergoing torments of continuous surge in oil and power prices.

The national power regulatory authority said in its decision that the increase in the power tariff was made as part of the quarterly adjustment. The new electricity rate will put an additional burden of Rs12 billion on the consumers.

The new raise will not impact the lifeline consumers and will be effective for three months from September 1 and Nov 1, 2022. Industrial consumers, however, already availing a relief package...
