Nawaz Sharif reaches Jati Umra after being discharged from Services Hospital after 16 days.

LAHORE -- Former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday discharged from the Services Hospital Lahore after 16 days and taken to his residence Jati Umra.

Nawaz Sharif departed from Lahore's Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) after his daughter, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was formally released from custody after an accountability court issued her robkar (release orders).

A special medical unit has been established at Jati Umra for the treatment of Nawaz Sharif. He was shifted to Jati Umra on his personal vehicle.

Doctors had discharged Nawaz Sharif from Services Hospital on Tuesday but he stayed in Services Hospital due to a delay in the issuance of the 'Robkar' (release order) of his daughter Maryam Nawaz.

An ambulance reached Services Hospital to shift Nawaz Sharif but he traveled to Jati Umra on his personal vehicle after a medical check-up was done which showed that his platelet count has further dropped to 30,000.

The medical board at Services Hospital has advised to carry out a genetic test of the former premier to diagnose his ailment.

Nawaz Sharif has reached his residence in Jati Umra along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz, his mother Begum Shamim Akhtar and brother PML-N President Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

Nurses and doctors from the Sharif Medical City arrived at the Services hospital, where head of the medical board Professor Dr. Mehmood Ayaz gave the medical file and reports of the former premier to the doctors of the Sharif Medical City.
