Nawaz's platelet count 'improves'.

LAHORE -- Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's platelets on Thursday increased from 35,000 to 51,000, showing improvement in his condition.

However, his blood pressure and sugar level was said to be still high.

The medical board headed by Services Hospital Principal Dr Mahmood Ayaz also examined Mr Sharif and conducted his tests.

Mr Sharif was shifted to the hospital from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore's custody on Oct 21 following his personal physician Dr Adnan Khan raised an alarm saying his (Sharif's) condition was serious as his platelets had dropped to a critically low level.

Initially, Mr Sharif was reluctant to go to hospital. However, he agreed to get treated at the Services Hospital when his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif, who was especially called there, persuaded him.
