Nawab Sadiq's death anniversary tomorrow.

BAHAWALPUR -- The 56thdeath anniversary of Nawab of Bahawalpur Muhammad Sadiq Khan Abbasi V would be observed on Sunday (tomorrow).

The late Nawab's contribution to the Pakistan Movement and later after the creation of Pakistan would always remain laudable in the history as Founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had himself acknowledged his services he rendered for the cause of Pakistan.

Nawab Sadiq Abbasi was the last ruler of the defunct Bahawalpur State among the 12 successive Nawabs. He annexed his State with the newly-created Pakistan on Oct 13, 1947 in keeping with the desire of the Quaid-i-Azamand after the formation of One Unit he merged his State into it.

Islamia University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Athar Mehboob during an online discussion on Friday paid glowing tributes to the late Nawab of Bahawalpur for his services rendered for the cause of Pakistan.

The participants including former parliamentarian Syed Tabish Alwari , member IUB syndicate and former principal, Government Sadiq Egerton (S.E) College Prof Raza Hamid Siddiqui, Professors Dr Tariq and Prof Aftab Gilani recounted his achievements to run the state's affairs aimed at betterment of the common man.
