Musharraf's conviction has hurt every soldier: Shujaat.

LAHORE -- Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid president Shujaat Hussain says the conviction of retired Gen Pervez Musharraf has hurt the feeling of every soldier standing on the border to protect his motherland.

'We should be concerned about the sentiments and feelings of every soldier. Soldiers are sacrificing their lives in defence of our motherland,' he said. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Shujaat said: 'Be it Gen Musharraf or any other soldier, love for the country and the nation are imbibed in them. There are thousands of instances since 1947 that our army men sacrificed their lives for the country and defended the motherland.'

He said some people were misleading the nation and propagating against the army. 'Gen Musharraf fought wars. Today those talking of treason against him had taken oath from him. These people should not be part of the propaganda,' he said.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Begum Mehnaz Rafi said the decision had brought two institutions face to face.
