Murad vows to add additional 260 MGD water in Karachi's system by reducing line losses.

KARACHI/DHABEJI -- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the Council of Common Interest (CCI) meeting is not called within a year and when it is called its minutes are delayed and when minutes are released they deliberately made hotchpotch so that the implementation of the decisions taken in the meeting could not be delayed further.

'This is how things are moving but even then we will be struggling to get the people of Sindh their due rights.'

This he said while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of 100 MGD new Pumping House here on Tuesday at Dhabeji. Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the pumping House by unveiling the plaque. The ceremony was attended by provincial Ministers, Saeed Ghani, Syed Nasir Shah, Murtaza Baloch, Advisor to CM Murtaza Wahab, Advisor Aijaz Shah Shirazi, Secretary Local Government Roshan Shaikh, MD water Board Asadullah Khan and party workers of Thatta, Sujawal and Karachi in a large number.

The chief minister said that the after hue and cry of over one year the CCI meeting was convened. The minutes of the meeting were delayed around one month and when they [minutes] were released and found them hotchpotch and now he has sent them back after necessary corrections. 'But I assure you, your [people of Sindh] rights will be protected at all costs,' he assured the people among deafening claps of applause.

Mr Shah addressing the chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto said that he was thankful to him that within a span of one month he has bothered to inaugurate third phase of development schemes and projects. 'You had inaugurated roads and underpasses in Karachi twice within 15 days and now after another 14 days you have inaugurated the newly established 100 MGD pumping House,' he said and added the people of Hyderabad have also requested the chairman to inaugurate their water supply, sanitation and road sector projects for which the chief minister said, he would again bother the chairman.

The chief minister announced that the Chairman would shortly perform stone lying ceremony of Ghotki-Kashmore bridge on River Indus. 'This would be the third bridge on River Indus being constructed by the provincial government from its own resources,' he said.
