Msf Promotes Skiing in Rural Parts of Mongolia

The Mongolian Ski Federation (MSF) is carrying out Skier Border Guard Program for Border Unit No.0198 of Khalkhgol soum in Dornod Province.

Below is an interview with the secretary-general of MSF, International Sports Master E.Ochirsuren, about timely issues.

MSF is currently working in rural areas. What did MSF do lately?

According to the plans for 2016, MSF is organizing some works in rural areas. We organized a cross-country skiing training among physical education teachers of Khengii Province from January19 to 21. Coach of Aldar Sports Committee, Sports Master B.Enkh-Amgalan, conducted the training. The purpose of the training was to promote cross-country skiing in provincial areas, provide practical and theoretical knowledge for ski instructors and coaches, and train children for the National Junior Skiing Championship.

After that, we headed to Dadal soum of Khentii Province and organized the Eastern Zonal Championship.

We have recently started Skier Border Guard Program for Border Unit No.0198 in Khalkhgol soum of Dornod Province. The program will be carried out until February 2 and International Sports Master B.Byambadorj will lead the program.

Tell us about the Eastern Zonal Ski Championship?

We are doing lots of activities this January. One of them was the Eastern Zonal Ski Championship in Dadal soum. It has been 20 years since the tournament was last organized. The Eastern Zonal Ski Championship was held within the frames of Darkhan Border Olympic torch relay and was, organized by the Mongolian National Olympic Committee and General Authority for Border Protection.

The Mongolian National Olympic Committee and Border Unit No.0287 in Dadal soum helped a lot in organizing the tournament.
