Mongolian Artists Open An Exhibition in England

The group exhibition "The Spirit of Mongolia" opened at Wolfson College in Oxford, England, on January 12.

The exhibition consists of work by three Mongolian artists, D.Soyolmaa, D.Sukhbaatar, and Ts.Davaanyam. It depicts the vast land, blue sky, and the culture which defines the spirit of Mongolia.

D.Soyolmaa received honors for her work in 2008, and is known for her contemporary work with Buddhist themes. Her paintings depict a meditative state in different settings, with the subjects calm, regardless of the background. The artist links her work to her spirituality. "I'm a Buddhist, and I'm inspired to create when I read Buddhist teachings," she said.

D.Sukbaatar is a well-known calligrapher and artist. He mainly paints symbolic animals, such as the Four Peaceful Animals...
