Mongolia Celebrates the First International Yoga Day

The very first celebration of International Day of Yoga in Mongolia was organized at Chinggis Square yesterday by the Embassy of India in Mongolia, the Art of Living Center, as well as other yoga centers around the city.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Mongolia, Somnath Ghosh, gave an opening speech at the event. "This is a great honor for me to be here with all of you who've been practicing yoga for many years today and introducing India's yoga. We have meant today's event as Yoga for Harmony and Peace' peace within yourself as an individual, and yoga for the peace and harmony of society. For thousands of years, India stood for peace. India stood for every individual of this universe. Thousands of years ago, when every country was trying to expand their territories, India was trying to spread peace. We believe that the world is one. We believe that each of us is a citizen of this universe. Yoga means union, being together with yourself, together with all of us, and with nature, " he remarked.

Over 7,000 people, including women, men and children, gathered at Chinggis Square to practice yoga and celebrate the International Day of Yoga. The yoga session was broadcasted live through...
