Mirpur Administration kicks off drive to overcome profiteering.

MIRPUR (AJK) -- After the rates of essential commodities including meat, vegetables and fruits were found above market prices here, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Sardar Adnan Khursheed held a meeting here on Friday and directed for booking those shopkeepers who were overcharging.

While consumers complained of arbitrary price hike by profiteer traders and shopkeepers of vegetables, chicken and meat, the Deputy Commissioner held the meeting with Food, and Consumer Affairs, Police and other concerned officials besides representatives of whole sellers and retailer shopkeepers.

Official sources said that the authorities had given strict directions to all the district administrations for booking those shopkeepers including butchers who sell meat at exorbitant rates against the prices fixed by the administration through an extensive drive against the profiteers and hoarders in all AJK districts.
