Minorities enjoying equal rights in country: Farrukh Habib.

FAISALABAD -- Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib Sunday said that Pakistan is a country where the majority and minorities enjoy equal rights.

He was addressing a gathering after visiting the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan in Chak No 222, Nawabanwala near Samanabad here.

Appreciating the productive contribution of Christian community to the national uplift, he said that the community was in forefront of social welfare field and we are proud of them. He said that white portion in the national flag represents the minorities. Our Constitution, government and prime minister all are bound to provide equal rights to minorities in every field of life. He said that the government fully acknowledges the contribution of Christian community and extending the best possible incentives so that they could play their role in national uplift projects by exploiting their capabilities of head and heart. He said that "this area falls in my constituency and I am duty bound to promote interfaith harmony among Muslims and Christians". He particularly mentioned the excellent relations between the two communities and said that combined wall of a mosque and church in Nazimabad area is indicative of this factor. He said that Pakistan is our motherland which has given us identity and opportunities to grow and prosper. There are many nations who have no land to live.

Farrukh Habib said that Pakistan has lot of opportunities. He mentioned Nisar Colony, Nawabanwala and other areas and said that these areas are swarming with power looms which were lying idle due to the ill-conceived policies of the previous governments. However, the PTI government has reactivated this most important and job creating sector. Now workers are not only getting jobs but their salaries have also been increased. He said that textile sector has achieved 13.5 per cent growth only due to the proactive policies of the present government. He said that Prime Minister wants that our youth should not run after jobs but they should become entrepreneurs and offer jobs to others.
