Minister assures affected teachers to redress their grievances.

ISLAMABAD -- Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Saturday assured teachers, who had been directed to report to their home provinces, that the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) would be asked to withdraw its notification.

The minister said a transparent and uniform policy would be observed at all levels.Talking to a delegation of affected teachers who called on him on Saturday, Mr Ahmed said discriminatory use of law would not be tolerated and made it clear that no one would be allowed to destroy the careers of over 200 teachers.

The delegation leaders told the interior minister that those teachers, who were forced to migrate, had been serving in the federal capital for years, adding that those with services between five and 28 years in Islamabad had been included in the notification.
