Micro smart lockdown imposed in Mansehra areas.

MANSEHRA -- The district administration on Friday imposed micro smart lockdown in three areas here declaring them coronavirus hotspots.

Deputy commissioner Dr Qasim Ali Khan told reporters here that religious and other gatherings had also been banned in those localities, including Ghazikot Township's Sector-A, Jabri area from Khaki Shah Baba Dargah to Zafar Park, and Shinkiari Road from Narri Mohallah to Booth Khatta.

A notification issued by the deputy commissioner said the Covid-19 incidence in the district was constantly on the rise threatening the people's health and therefore, measures were required to stem the spread of the virus.

It said the localities under the smart lockdown would be completely sealed, while educational institutions and business centres dealing in non-essential items would remain closed until the further orders.

The notification said the relevant authorities would enforce the lockdown.

Meanwhile, assistant commissioner Javed Sardar Marwat held a meeting with traders and asked them to close shops and business centres at 7pm to check the spread of Covid-19 incidence.

FUNDS OKAYED: The government has approved Rs600 million for two major projects to address traffic issues in Mansehra city and its suburbs.

Chief engineer of the works and communication department Bilal Afzal told reporters here on Friday that after the release of first tranche of Rs600 million funds, work on Badra Interchange-Karakoram Highway Road and Datta Bypass Road would begin shortly.
