Message on 19th Summit of Heads of States Meeting in Bishkek.

Kyrgyzstan has assumed Presidency in the SCO after summit in Qingdao, China in June last year and currently is approaching Organization's concluding Heads of State Summit on 13-14 June 2019 in its capital Bishkek.During my country's SCO presidency a number of important events had been organized, including Heads of Government Summit, meetings of the Ministers of Defense, Culture, Education, Agriculture, Justice, Prosecutors General, Heads of anti-drug agencies, third meeting of the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group, SCO Youth Assembly, SCO Peace Mission Exercise on combating terrorism, high-level joint UN and SCO meeting on countering traditional threats and new challenges undermining peace, security and stability.

Just recently in May 2019, SCO meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers, of the Secretaries of national security, SCO Business Council, Women and Mass Media forums, marathon running competition on the famous Issyk Kul lake, successfully passed in Kyrgyzstan.

On 17 May 2019, Bishkek hosted the Expanding Cooperation Boundaries SCO Business Forum with participation of more than three hundred government and corporate leaders, heads of investment promotion agencies and business community representatives from the member states, observer states and dialogue partners as well as prominent economy and investment experts.

The SCO Business Forum resulted in a number of contracts and agreements signed between various companies worth over $2 billion. One of the most important events within the framework of the Kyrgyz Republic's chair in the organization - a meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers was held on 22 May 2019.

The Council focused on the implementation of the results of the SCO Heads of State Qingdao and the SCO Council of Heads of Government Dushanbe meetings held in 2018.

Priorities for the further development of the Organization had been considered as a part of the preparation for the SCO Summit to be held on June 13-14 in Bishkek. Thus, the draft Bishkek Declaration and the draft information message on the results of the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State were adopted as a basis, the report on the work of the SCO Secretariat over the past year was approved, the draft report on the organization's activities was approved and information on the results of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) activities was heard.
