Mera Gondal races to emphatic victory in Dur-e-Yemen Cup.

LAHORE -- Three-year-old bay colt Mera Gondal in a stunning performance won the Dur-e-Yemen Cup during the 10th Lahore Winter Meeting here at the Racecourse on Sunday.

After failure in his last outing, Mera Gondal looked a different colt astride Safdar Hussain to beat favourite filly Ullswater partnered by aging jockey Mohammad Hanif clocking one minute, 7 1/5 seconds over the 1,100-metre race.

Bay fillies Al Raunaq and Sand Storms completed the frame among seven runners.

In the main supporting race of the six-event card, the Khanewal Plate Class VII Division I and II contested over 1,100 metres favourite colt Al Shouq made amends following a hopeless performance last time to win the race defeating Sicty Love with Banaras Prince and Mahi khan completing the frame among eight starters. Tahir Abbas rode the winner.
