Punjab Assembly session started under chairmanship of Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi here today (Tuesday). MPAs Mian Shafi Mohammad, Khadeeja Umar and Sajid Ahmad Khan presented "The Punjab Compulsory Teaching of The Holy Quran Amendment Bill 2021" in the House. After passage of the amendment bill, Ch Parvez Elahi congratulated all members of the House.

On this occasion the Speaker said that now Holy Quran will be taught as a compulsory subject in all school of Punjab which will benefit future generations, only way for success, direction and progress for the Muslim lies in practicing Last of the Holy Books of Almighty Allah and Sunnah of the Last of the Prophets (PBUH), only by practicing these the Muslims can regain their lost glory.

The Speaker read out the saying of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that I am leaving two things among you, one if the Book of Allah and second thing is to follow the life and Sunnah of the Last Prophet of Allah, as long as you keep holding these things firmly you will never become wayward. Ch Parvez Elahi said that this law was needed so that our generations have good training and they properly understand Islamic teachings by practicing which in true sense they can transform dreams of the Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal into reality and Pakistan can lead the Islamic world.

Afterwards, by suspending the relevant Rules of Procedure Provincial Assembly Punjab 1997, a resolution strongly condemning the current Israeli aggression on Palestine and resultant brutal massacre of innocent and unarmed Palestinians Muslims including women and innocent children was presented which was unanimously passed. The condemnation resolution was presented by Provincial Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja.
