Maulana Aziz, guards booked for displaying arms.

ISLAMABAD -- Another case was registered against former cleric of Lal Masjid Maulana Abdul Aziz and his guards over violation of a ban on displaying weapons, police said on Wednesday.

Recently the capital administration extended the ban on displaying and exhibiting firearms as show of force in the capital as the practice is likely to threaten public peace and create serious danger to human life and safety of the public.

The case was registered against Maulana Aziz and his nine guards under section 188 of PPC and Arms Ordinance, they added.

Teams of police including Counter Terrorism Force and Anti-Riot Unit stationed around the Lal Masjid, spotted some persons armed with Kalashnikovs inside the mosque, they said.
