Man shot dead, friend injured by motorcyclists.

LAHORE -- A man was shot dead and another injured seriously when they were on their way back after appearing in court on Saturday.

Asghar Ali and his friend were intercepted and attacked by two motorcyclists near Jain Mandir. A police official claimed the motorcyclists fled from the scene leaving Ali and his fellow injured. They were taken to a local hospital where Ali succumbed to his wounds.

Quoting initial inquiries, he said it seemed that the two men were targeted by their opponents in some litigation in court. Ali's body was sent to the city morgue for autopsy after lodging a case against unidentified attackers, he added.

Separately, Haseeb (20) allegedly drowned in the Ravi river under mysterious circumstances, police said on Saturday.
