Man shot dead, five others injured in separate robbery incidents.

ISLAMABAD -- A man was murdered and five others were injured during separate robbery incidents in the capital while criminals looted cash and valuables at 24 other places on Monday.

Police said robbers intercepted Mohsin Ali, a resident of Chakwal, on Islamabad Expressway near Fizaia Chowk and shot him dead on resistance.

A murder case was registered at the Koral police station on the charges of murder and robbery in response to a complaint lodged on behalf of the state by Inspector Mohammad Akram.

Two persons armed with a pistol and dagger intercepted a loading pickup of a company operating at Sabzi Mandi at I-10/2 and looted Rs500,000. When the three robbery victims disembarked from the pickup and put up resistance, one of the robbers attacked them with the dagger and injured them.

In another incident, two persons armed with weapons raided the house of Zain Rasool Awan and looted gold ornaments worth Rs6 million and cash Rs600,000. The robbers beat and injured the house servant when he put up resistance and also took away a car.

Four persons raided a shop at H-13 and held up the workers at gunpoint and snatched Rs70,000 and two mobile phones from them.

Three armed persons raided the shop of Qasim Mehmood at Dhoke Awan and looted cash and 12 mobile phones worth Rs585,500. Three armed persons intercepted Islam Gul near Nescom...
