Man sentenced to death for murdering ASI.

KARACHI -- An antiterrorism court on Tuesday handed down death sentence 'twice' to a man for murdering a police official.

Muhammad Asif alias Bhayya was found guilty of shooting to death Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Akram Khan in the Manghopir on Aug 28, 2021.

On Tuesday, the ATC-XVI judge, who conducted the trial in the judicial complex inside the central prison, pronounced the verdict reserved after recording evidence and final arguments from both sides.

'Feeling of insecurity, panic and harassment, in society in general, and police department in particular, arising out of the incident is inevitable and there is nothing on record that the innocent deceased had any personal enmity with anyone,' the judge wrote in the verdict.
