Man injured as fire guts six shops.

UPPER DIR -- A huge fire broke out in a mechanic's shop in Dir Khas city, gutting five adjoining shops and a car and injuring a man before the fire brigade and local volunteers could extinguish the blaze.

Local sources and witnesses said a fire suddenly broke out with a huge explosion. They, however, said the cause of the fire could not be known.

The sources said owners and workers at the workshop immediately started the rescue operation.
