Man booked for BISP fraud against 6 women.

OKARA -- A man was booked for deceitfully receiving cash in the name of six poor uneducated women from the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) for about 10 years.

As per the first information report (FIR) registered by elderly woman Kalsoom Bibi, a resident of Qila Sondha Singh of tehsil Dipalpur, Muhammad Abbas contacted the village women, namely Shamshad, Shabbiran, Sidra, Shahida, Sughran and the complainant, and got copies of their computerised national identity cards (CNICs) and thumb impressions for issuance of the BISP cards. The women received amounts for a few months but later on, he took their thumb impressions on the pretext of getting the card verified from Islamabad.

Nearly two weeks back, the six women received postal envelopes and it transpired that Abbas was getting cash from the BISP in the name...
