Major work on Musa Pak's shrine completes.

BAHAWALPUR -- The Punjab archaeology department claims to have completed major work on preservation and restoration of the tomb of Hazrat Musa Pak Shaheed after three years at a cost of Rs11.398 million.

The tomb situated at the historic town of Uch Sharif, some 70km from here, is listed under protected monuments' category of the Punjab Heritage Foundation Act, 2005.

Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Sajjad Ahmed told Dawn that the restoration included under-pinning work, brick masonry of shrine wall with special sized bricks, dome's rehabilitation, shisham wood work glazed lime, kankar lime, plastic and enameled glaze with kasha tiles as per the original design.

He said the tomb was in a dilapidated condition and its restoration to its original form was a challenge which the department accepted three years back and undertook the task that has now been completed.
