Major power breakdown hits eight districts.

HYDERABAD -- A major power breakdown hit eight districts on Saturday evening after a power transformer at 500kV grid station of the National Transmission and Despatch Company developed a fault in Jamshoro.

A spokesman for Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) said the fault in power transformer-2 had paralyzed eight districts of Hesco region at 5.17pm.

He told Dawn over phone that one of the three power transformers at the grid station was already affected. Now the transformer-2 was hit by a fault while the transformer-3 was providing electric supply to K-Electric.
