Magsi voices concern over digital census.

HYDERABAD -- ExpreAssing concern over a digital census, Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party (STP) chairman Dr Qadir Magsi on Wednesday said it was being conducted before its scheduled timeframe in order to please the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

He said the condition of the national identity cards had been done away with and immigrants were not being counted as otherwise required. In a statement issued here he said there was information that enumerators had been told in training that a person who disclosed that he or she was living for six months should be considered permanent citizen and counted in the census accordingly.

That showed that the census was being done to convert Sindhis into minority, he alleged, making it clear that the people of Sindh would not accept it.
