Lums film festival begins today.

LAHORE -- A two-day international film festival titled 'FILUMS' by the LUMS Media Art Society will open at the Alhamra Art Center, The Mall, on Saturday (today).

The institution is organising the festival for the first time in Lahore and it is meant to encourage the filmmakers from all over the world to participate.

The festival has received film submissions not only from Pakistan but also from other countries. It will also bring together the film industry of Pakistan to its platform and allow independent filmmakers to engage with veterans of the art.

On the first day, noted director Jamshed Mehmood, who is popularly known as Jami, will discuss his movie 'Moor'. A political action drama 'Zar Gul' will be displayed, followed by a panel discussion with Usman Pirzada and Samina Pirzada.
