Low gas pressure disturbs households.

GUJRANWALA -- Hundreds of people of different localities, including women and children, protested on Friday against the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) for unannounced loadshedding and low gas pressure.

The residents of Shaheenabad, Fareed Town, Satellite Town, Popular Nursery, Garjakh Choray Shah, Dhullay, Jandiala Baghwala, Kachi Pumpwali, Wahdat Colony, Lohianwala, Chamanshah Road, Hafizabad Road, Baghbanpura and Rahwali are facing gas loadshedding.

The residents of these localities -- Abdul Waheed, Fakhar, Waqas, Usman, Arif, Sufyan, Asghar, Faqiha, Shumals, Razia, Nashi, Nasira, Rasheeda, Naeema, Maee Malngni, Ayesha Bibi and others -- said due to the loadshedding and low gas pressure, they could not prepare meals and had to wait for hours for adequate gas supply.

Hotels have increased the prices of roti and dishes. Hotel owners said their business had adversely been affected due to low gas pressure. Some hotel owners said they could not provide meal to customers on time due to low gas pressure. Those in the laundry business have also been hard hit by the gas shortage.

Muhammad Afzal said he was falling behind deadlines to press dresses and delivered them to customers.

People demanded the SNGPL resolve their problems.

SNGPL General Manager Kabeer Ahmad said they were supplying gas equally to all areas. The department would lay a new pipeline soon and the problem of low gas...
