LHDP enhances capacities of rural communities against disasters.

SUJAWAL -- Laar Humanitarian and Development Program (LHDP) held the closing ceremony of the project tilted 'Strengthening Resilience of Coastal Communities in District Sujawal, Sindh at Jati town, district Sujawal, Sindh on Wednesday. The project aimed at increasing resilience of marginalized and vulnerable communities of Union Council Kar-Malik, Jati town, disrict Sujawal through strengthening their preparedness against disasters and promoting a culture of risk reduction among communities and institutions. While addressing the ceremony, Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department-Sujawal, Mr. Liaquat Ali Sehto, appreciated the project staff that worked diligently to achieve project objectives and termed the project beneficial for the rural community of the Taluka Jati.

He added, 'LHDP has played pivotal role in building capacities of the community through activities under the project against disasters. The project has enabled rural communities to minimize losses in case of a disaster situation, he added. He said the project helped the community to be better prepared in untoward situations.'
