Lal Khan remembered as symbol of resistance.

OKARA -- Comrade Lal Khan had become the symbol of resistance for standing against despotism and raising his voice for the rights of working classes without any expediency or opportunism.

This was a consensus during a condolence reference held for Dr Lal Khan (Yasrab Tanveer Gondal) at the residence of Comrade Hashmat Ali Khan Lodhi on Friday.

PPP Punjab literary society president Comrade Zohaib Butt said Lal Khan had started education from his native village of Bhone in district Chakwal.

'He got admission to the Nishtar Medical College Multan where he started politics of the Left and was migrated at Rawalpindi Medical College. During his student life under Gen Zia, he was sent abroad by his father, a retired army officer. While in Europe, he got chances to see internationally renowned Marxists like Ted Grant and started publishing a magazine The Struggle which was also introduced in Pakistan,' he added.

Mr Butt said during the 1990s, many renowned figures of the Left fell for expediency...
