Lakki teachers seek quota for promotion.

LAKKI MARWAT -- The district chapter of Certified Teachers (CT) Association has demanded of the government to approve 25 per cent quota for the certified teachers for promotion to the posts of subject specialist.

The demand was made at a meeting held here in Lakki city on Friday with association's district president Naimatullah Khan in the chair. General secretary Gul Rehman and other office-bearers of the association and teachers attended the meeting.

The speakers said that certified teachers played an important role in teaching activities in the middle, high and higher secondary schools.

They regretted that their cadre had been ignored in the provision of perks and privileges to teachers. They asked the government to recruit certified teachers in BPS-16 and promote them to the post of senior certified teacher in BPS-17.

They demanded of the government to promote qualified certified teachers as secondary school teachers and subject specialists under the 60 per cent and 25 per cent quota, respectively.
