Lahori Sayeen clinches February Cup at KRC.

KARACHI -- With 2020 Cup already under his belt, thoroughbred chestnut horse Lahori Sayeen added yet another feather to his cap by lifting the February Cup as outsiders reigned supreme during the winter Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Having placed second in preceding back-to-back races, Lahori Sayeen created quite a stir by galloping to two lengths victory over dark bay horse Parachuter to clinch second cup of the year.

The victorious horse, which is owned by Mian Waleed Haroon and sent by trainer Zia-ur-Rehman, was piloted home by rider Kashif Qamar.

Favourite dark bay horse Maradona fell third after being beaten by three-quarter-of-a-length with mare Dazzling Diva completing the frame further edged by head among seven starters.

Another favourite three-year-old bay colt Danzinger bit the dust as bay horse Zorawar sprinted to smart a five-length victory to win the fifth and supporting race.

Starka and Artemisia occupied third and fourth places respectively on board after Faster Than You was withdrawn.

At the outset, long shot chestnut filly Risky opened her account edging mare Humaira Choice by short head as favourite Pin Point had to be content with third place followed by Velocity.

Another outsider bay horse Mansha lowered the colours of mare Paris by winning as he pleased by eight-and-a-half lengths as favourite Lakshmi was not on job and settled third.

It was only mare Sanobar who obliged the punters after defeating Sonia Again by six lengths.

Trainer Zia-ur-Rehman sent three winners in Risky, Lahori Sayeen and Zorawar.
