PRIME Minister Imran Khan's decision to back out of the Kuala Lumpur summit just a day before it began was rather disappointing.

The decision was made on the pretext that attending the summit would divide the ummah. However, the foreign office failed to explain how attending such a summit would create divisions in the ummah. The Kuala Lumpur summit was an international platform launched in 2014 and is held every year for Muslim leaders, where the intellectuals and scholars come together to discuss the issues being faced by the Muslims around the world.
