Kohat residents protest delay in work on road.

KOHAT -- The residents of Marai Payan and Marai Bala areas here on Wednesday protested against the provincial government's failure to reconstruct a road linking the two regions.

The protest leaders, including Bilal Hussain Bangash, Fazal Nabi and Ayaz Khan, said the road had been constructed first in 2010 and then last year, but it was damaged during rains due use of substandard material.

They lamented that despite their repeated appeals, the local lawmakers were not paying heed to their problems.

They said the road up to Maidan area of Orakzai had become a great nuisance for them, especially during rains. They said endpoints of the road in Kacha Pakha and Mitha Khan had been constructed, but a 30-mile stretch had been left uncarpeted.

JIRGA: A jirga held in Orakzai district on Wednesday condemned the criticism of the Pak Army on social media and attempts to drag it into the ongoing tussle between the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement.

Tehreek-i-Estiklal Pakistan organised the jirga.
