Killing of outlaw sparks protest in Lakki village.

LAKKI MARWAT -- Killing of an outlaw in police encounter sparked protest as his relatives and villagers blocked the Indus Highway in Shahbazkhel here on Thursday.

The police had killed a wanted outlaw, Raees Khan, on Wednesday night in an encounter in Chuharkhel village of Darra Pezu town.

An official said that a police party raided hideout of the outlaw when local authorities received information about his presence there. He said the police came under attack as they entered the hideout. He said the exchange of fire continued for half an hour.

He said the law enforcers searched the area when the firing stopped and found the body of the wanted criminal Raees Khan in the room.
