Kidnapped woman recovered from Sindh.

KASUR -- Kasur police on Monday recovered a woman who was allegedly sold to a brothel in Khairpur, Sindh, by her relatives and arrested a suspect.

Six suspects, including a woman, had kidnapped their relative married woman from village Nijabat in the limits of Mandi Usmanwala Police Station in February 2020.

District Police Officer Imran Kishwar told the media the family of the kidnapped woman, Sania Bibi (20), had filed a writ petition in the Lahore High Court against the police failure to recover her and the court had taken a serious notice of the matter.

The DPO said the suspects, including Rai Ashfaq, Asif, Zarina Bibi, Ansar and Javaid, had kidnapped Sania, the wife of Muhammad Shakeel, from village Nijabat. The family of Sania and the suspects belonged to the same village and were relatives.

Police had lodged a case against six nominated suspects but failed to recover Sania as the suspects had got interim bails from the local court.

Following directions of the LHC, DPO Kishwar established a team that raided a brothel in district Khairpur of Sindh and recovered Sania.

According to City Circle Deputy Superintendent of Police Yaqoob Awan, the main suspect, Rai Ashfaq, had kidnapped Sania some years back also but the families had reconciled.

He said Sania was handed over to her family after completing legal formalities.
