Khasadar, Levies forces to get policing task.

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday decided to give policing responsibilities to the Khasadar and Levies forces in the tribal districts.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman and attended by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Corps Commander Shaheen Mazhar Mahmood and IGP Salahuddin Mehsud.

A statement issued by the KP information department said that the meeting agreed to enact the KP Khasadar Act and KP Levies Act to entrust policing in the merged districts to both the forces.

It said that the Home and Tribal Affairs Department had been tasked to prepare the draft legislations within 10 days.
