Kashif, Ijaz lead Nazimabad Gym B to big win.

KARACHI -- Kashif Khan and Ijaz Swati shared a double-century partnership as Nazimabad Gymkhana B thrashed Rizvia Sports by 221 runs to qualify for the third round of the All-Karachi Prof Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi Invitation Cricket Tournament at the KMC Eastern Star Ground here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Dawood Sports and Northern Gymkhana also made it to round three with wins against Lines Area Gymkhana and North Shire CC, respectively.

Batting first, Nazimabad Gymkhana posted a massive 367-9 in the stipulated 45 overs. Kashif bludgeoned 157 off 126 balls with the aid of 16 boundaries and two sixes, while Ijaz contributed a 102-ball 137 that included 17 fours and two sixes. The fourth-wicket stand between the two centurions yielded 237.

Paceman Wasim Abbas (3-38) was the standout performer for Rizvia Sports with a hat-trick. But his team was bowled out in 28.1 overs for 146 as Raja Akbar grabbed 4-41.
