Karak traders refuse to pay professional tax.

KARAK -- Traders of Rehmatabad, Sordag and Latamber areas have refused to pay the professional tax to the tehsil municipal administration unless they are provided with basic facilities.

The decision was made by president and general secretary of the traders' body, Qaisar Jamal and Liaq Zaman, respectively, while speaking a meeting here on Monday.

They said the TMA Karak had imposed Rs1,000 to Rs1,500 professional tax on traders, adding that they had rejected such taxes. They said that the traders had no drinking water facility and were forced to purchase water from private tankers.
