Jirga in Karak vows to secure people's rights.

KARAK -- Loya Jirga, a forum of elected representatives of Kohat division, here on Friday decided to launch a movement for rights of the people on January 5 and threatened to block the oil and gas supply to other parts of the country from the local fields.

The decision was made in a meeting of the jirga here, which was presided over by Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl MPA Mian Nisar Gul and attended by MPA Malik Zafar Azam and leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, PML-N, JUI-S and other political parties.

On this occasion, Mr Gul, Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz, Shamsur Rehman of PTI, Rehmat Salam and other office-bearers of the rights organisation claimed that problems of the people of Karak and other nearby districts were increasing day by day.

They regretted that due rights were denied by the government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf to people of the oil- and gas-rich districts from the last five years.
