JI emir warns govt against inflation, unemployment.

RAWALPINDI -- Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) held protest demonstration on Wednesday as part of its countrywide movement against inflation and unemployment.

Addressing on the occasion, JI Emir Senator Sirajul Haq warned the rulers to bring down the inflation otherwise they would send them packing.

'We want government to reduce the prices of basic commodities,' said Sirajul Haq while addressing a charged crowed on Murree Road.

JI Deputy Chief Mian Aslam and JI Northern Punjab Emir Dr Salim also addressed the gathering.

A large number of people were holding placards and banner inscribed with slogans against inflation.

He said the protest demonstrations would be held in every city under the banner of JI. He said that it appeared that the only objective of this government was to suck the blood of the poor.

The JI emir said how the prime minister could take action against those who created shortage of flour and increased the price of sugar were sitting in power corridors.

He lamented that people were not getting flour in a country which was the eighth largest producer of wheat crop in the world.

Quoting the statements of Dr Ishrat Hussain and FBR chairman about bad governance and tax issues, he said the PTI government had failed to introduce reform in a single sector during past 16 months of its rule.
