Jahangir Tareen, Khusro Bakhtiar's brother benefitted from sugar crisis: FIA report.

ISLAMABAD -- PTI leader Jahangir Tareen and federal minister Khusro Bakhtiar's brother, along with other political entities, benefitted from the sugar crisis in the country, said the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) report on Saturday.

Tareen benefitted the most from the sugar crisis followed by Bakhtiar's brother, as per the report. It was further mentioned that Moonis Elahi's companies profited from the sugar crisis as well. Elahi is Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi's son and a key member of the PML-Q.

The document failed to mention why the Economic Coordination Council (ECC) approved the decision to export sugar and under whose influence Punjab government issue subsidies to sugar mills.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar expressed hope that Prime Minister Imran Khan will do justice come what may.
