IST wins Hitec Olympiad.

TAXILA -- Institute of Space Technology (IST) won the sixth edition of Heavy Industries Taxila Education City (Hitec) Olympiad by grabbing most of the positions.

Prime Minister's Spokesperson Nadeem Afzal Chan, who was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony on Friday, awarded Rs30,000 prize money to the winning team.

In his address, Mr Chan said 2020 would be the year of youth empowerment as the government was all set to launch four more initiatives under its Kamyab Jawan Programme to create extensive job opportunities.

He said creating more jobs and promoting entrepreneurship culture for youth empowerment is the top priority of incumbent government. He emphasised the importance of extracurricular and co-curricular activities.

He said platforms such as Olympiad gave students an opportunity to participate in multi-dimensional activities and to exhibit their skills and talents.
