Iqbal's statues installed in Sialkot.

SIALKOT -- The Sialkot Municipal Corporation has installed two statues of Allama Iqbal in the city to pay homage to the national poet and beautify his native city.

Chief Officer Faisal Shehzad said the project was supervised by DC Dr Nasir Mehmood Bashir.

He said the statues made of fiber glass were installed under the Clean and Green Programme launched by the government with the cooperation of local philanthropists.

One of the statues was installed at city's congested Kotli Behram Chowk, while the other along Sialkot-Pasrur Road.

The DC said the main object of installing these statues was to pay tribute to Dr Iqbal.
